Are you saying that none of that was successful? And is this an ongoing process? Could if things improve, we see talos principle on more devices? I expect nothing, as I have come to understand that Qualcomm is a poison for high end development.
THE TALOS PRINCIPLE NVIDIA SHIELD DRIVERS
Requiring kit kat or lollipop and up, restricting compatibility to adreno 400 and up (which artificially forces drivers to be at v100 or higher since earlier drivers don't support adreno 4xx). Although I'm suprised there wasn't a workaround to force it. Hang around the dolphin guys a lot on their forum and they are quick to remind people of that. Yeah I'm pretty familiar with the "Qualcomm's drivers are completely garbage" story. They update even more often than Nexus devices, I think.

For future devices, if the vendors decide to take latest good drivers, and not change too much in them, then maybe.Īnd that's one additional upside for Nvidia devices - besides just great HW and drivers - that they actually update their firmware very often. But even after we made it work on Qualcomm's default drivers, different devices have different older versions of the driver and with the Android's OS update quagmire, they probably never will have a fixed driver. We tried porting to them, and Qualcomm knows we really tried a lot, because we were in contact with them regularly. Other modern devices (most notably Snapdragon 801 and above) could run this on lower settings, but their drivers are too unstable.
